Sometimes the most functional setups might not be real pretty. This is one such setup, put together to do surveys. This Mobile Wi-Fi Survey Setup is simple but works super. It is used to find & map wi-fi Access Points & Peer-to-Peer radios.

The Key componenets are:

- 400 Watt Inverter (Converts 12VDC to 110 AC)
- Lenovo 3000 C100 Laptop
- Orinoco Gold Card (802.11G 54MBPS wi-fi PCMCIA Card)
- 7dBi Magnet-Mount Antenna
- 2 USB GPS mice (generic GPS for data mapping NetStumbler files & simultaneous Garmin mapping/navigation)
- JottoDesk Mobile Laptop Stand - Floor Mounted - Best solution for safety & use of a laptop while in a vehicle. Mine is a Toyota Tundra. I do not regret buying the JottoDesk NEW for $125 on eBay. Worth the money & no more broken connectors, overheating laptop or dangerous distractions while driving.
