The black guy has some skills.

A: PVC insulation is much thinner, but still offers enough padding as long as you try to avoid the face/nuts. Doesn't always work, but it's considered courteous.
B: Yea, a lot of us have patterns, but these aren't choreographed. All of the videos so far by any of the people at Savage have been clips of actual matches, where we're trying to do what's effective, not just pretty. Of course we only post the stuff that's not TOO ugly. lol.

What did you make your weapons out of? I've been using PVC pipe, pool noodle and duct tape, but that makes things a bit clunky. Your stuff seems a lot more maneuverable.

decent. butive noticed you do some of the same stuff over and over

PVC, PVC insulation, "Duck" brand duct tape. They're light, but solid enough to give solid shots. They have a little spring to them, and the padding makes the hits very noticable, but they rarely injure anyone... the pipe will break long before bones (although the broken edge is VERY sharp, so if you feel something snap, you have to stop RIGHT then).
They're cheap and easy... just like I likes my womens.

A few more questions:
They are made of PVC tubing and then PVC insulation padding around the tube secured with duct tape?
Also, is there any way you can curve the tubing to make it like a katana/or bokken?
I keep shattering my buddies' bokken and these things seem like a great idea....

Of course, I've made straight swords, staves, curved katanas, naginatas, khopeshes, sickles, all that. I've been meaning to make an instructional video for years... never got around to it. Subscribe and I'll make sure to make a couple videos explaining all that.
