First Annual Dave Bolland Golf Classic

TORONTO, July 11, 2011 -- NHL players have decided to trade in their hockey sticks for golf clubs, in support of Canadian youth.

Toronto based arts charity, The Remix Project will play host to The First Annual Dave Bolland Celebrity Golf Classic in the efforts to raise funds to level the career fields for young people from disadvantaged, marginalized and under served communities; by giving youth the skills to help propel them into their chosen creative field.

Quickly becoming one of the most recognizable faces on the Chicago Blackhawks team, Dave Bolland is proud to partner with The Remix Project, Nike and The Royal Ontario Golf Club for a day of golf and entertainment. Limited to a general public capacity of 155 players, golf players will have the opportunity to experience a round of golf with some of the most talented NHL players within the National Hockey League, along with celebrities from the film and music industries across North America.

On Wednesday, August 3rd, at The Royal Ontario Golf Club will play host to the merge of celebrities, NHL players and the Toronto community all in one location. The First Annual Dave Bolland Celebrity Golf Classic proceeds at 1:00pm for media and players registration.

About Dave Bolland

David Bolland born June 5, 1986) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player currently playing for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League. Bolland was drafted by the Blackhawks in the second round (32nd overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He also competed at the 2006 World Junior Championships where he helped Canada capture the gold medal. Bolland helped lead the 2009 - 2010 Blackhawks to their first Stanley Cup championship since 1961 ending the 49 year drought.
