The exit of Justice Minister Martha Karua from cabinet has opened new succession wars within President Mwai Kibakis Party of National Unity. It is now emerging that she could be the first victim of the unfolding succession war. While Karua maintains that she resigned because of being frustrated by an anti-reform clique around the President, it has not been lost on many that her tribulations with the establishment began when she declared her interest in the presidency last year. And during her homecoming on Tuesday, 7th April 2009 in Gichugu, Karua gave hints of succession battles when she hit out at her potential challenger in Central Province Uhuru Kenyatta.

For someone of Martha Karua's status kuongea kilugha yake(namaanisha Kikuyu) when there are so many Kenyans in that rally is just too bad for Kenya. Tunajaribu ku reduce Mambo ya Kikabila...She continues to speak in her Mother Tongue....Wewe Ongea Swahili ama English watu wakufahamu....Reforms from where...She was in YES Group during Referendum...

Yes Martha don't be a stooge for anyone, Kenya needs to break the cycle of political dynasties & their allies. There is nothing wrong with a clique falling out if you feel like your not on the same path. It is better to stick to your principles than to keep on supporting individuals for political expediency, now that is a true patriot. Like the say " A wise man is not afraid to change his mind".
