On May 13, 2009, Howard Zinn hosted a special reading of the newly released, updated and illustrated "A Young Peoples History of the United States" that highlights the words of Americas youngest rebels, dissenters and visionaries, from our past--and present.

  • Howard Zinn was a GREAT American...

  • I didn't know he was dead. I just discovered his book "A People's History of the United States" about two weeks ago, and I am really enjoying it, and being enlightened in many ways. I looked forward to more from him. Coming from someone who was a typical ultra-conservative, his book has dramatically changed my perspective of the past and the present. His was a life well lived.

  • @paplanner My sophomore history teacher made our AP class read Zinn's book on the history of America. Its VERY opinionated based on political view.Sorry

  • @rapiddominace I doubt you read the book, and if you opened it you obviously scanned it with your built in bias, so any opinion you offer is meaningless and should be ignored.

  • @urbman29 Anti American and socialist because it tells the truth? Curing a time when the American government is totally corrupt and a captive of the ultra rich and capitalism is just legalized theft, it might be a good idea to open your mind a bit about the real history of the United States, not the sanitized version you propagandized with.

  • @GlennbeckFTW well said

  • @Lukege15 he was a pilot,i admire him, yes. But it is war,his whole entire views are based on what happend. Its really weak.Although he does bring a light upon the bad side of the U.S
