Harry Shearer is funny as heck but a political douche. New Orleans is built on a delta marsh, so by definition "it is subject to frequent or continuous flood". Could the engineering have been better? Yes. But engineering is a precise and difficult enterprise in which sometimes mistakes are made. Listening to Shearer spewing his sage hindsight about the failures of the Army Corps of Engineers, laced with plentiful doses of nerdy arrogance, is nauseating.

Great to see Harry Shearer focus on New Orleans, post Katrina --- as the city sweats out the possible arrival of Hurricane Gustav.
