The Teardrop Explodes' 1981 album Wilder is a love song to Khaled. Songwriter Julian Cope said it was a love song to her "cos I thought she was so beautiful. But I know that the whole thing was like bad news."[

Great song! I don't remember hearing this song off the first two albums. I saw the Teardrop Explodes in Houston in the summer of 1981 at the (Rock) Island Club. Great show! One of the best!

I never had a bootleg dvd but only fond memories of watching the Teardrops play Wilder on the OGWT in 82.
Why that has not been repeated by the beeb I cannot understand . I'd love to see it again , especially all the singles and the great dominions at the end.
