i couldnt agree more that the snowbirds are up for an upgrade but.As good as these guys are, i think at the moment the snowbirds are mostly known for their ability to fly in formation in large numbers.could we afford a 9X f35 formation ? i dont think we could even afford a 9Xf18 formation.Personally, im proud of the snowbirds even tho they use shitty jets, they will need to upgrade one day but .i wouldnt push it.even if they get 11 f-18s tomorow ?wouldnt fix anything, wed just need new pilots.

@RFKFANTS67 Im really behind in terms of following the news but i remember hearing about something like this ... did we really by some f35s ??? im guessing lockheed must of made a non vertical take off version :/ no way the canadian goverment would pay for a marvel of technology like that ... unless it came out 20 years ago :/

@RFKFANTS67 there are a couple problems- the tutor is canadian designed and made, any replancement is not- they would lose thier uniqueness. Also with the F18 and F35, they fly at a much higher speed (presumably) increasing the danger of 9 airplanes in tight formation- I think thats why the thunderbirds and blue angels only do 4 ship manuevers. But this is just my opinion :P

Since Mr. Harper bought new F35's, I agree with the person who wrote the old Tudors should be replaced I agree! And being our PM's in the mood to spend our $ and being the Snowbirds represent our airforce, They should get at least our ageing f18's or new F35's..

My cousin was with the team for a "total" of 6 years..2 years opposing solo, 2 years lead solo, and in the end in number #1 spot as C/O and team leader...Nice bunch of guys! My Uncle had a party for the team when I was 17. I want to get to Reno someday and watch:} Although to me, it'll never be the same without #177 Galopping Ghost..and Mr. Jimmy Leeward ...RIP
