I shot this video of an ascent of Notch Couloir on Longs Peak (the crown jewel of Rocky Mountain National Park - Colorado, USA). The route ascended Lambslide, cut across Broadway, and then went up the couloir that borders the east face of Longs Peak. Notch Couloir tops out at the prominent notch between Longs Peak and 'The Beaver'. From there we ascended the The Staircase and scrambled over to the summit of Longs Peak. We rappelled The Cables Route (aka North Face) to get back down to The Boulder Field and the death march back to the car.

  • Kudos, I've gotta do the Coulier next time on Longs.

  • It's splendid route, perhaps a tad more interesting than Kieners depending on conditions. IMHO both Notch Couloir on Longs and Dreamweaver on Meeker are both "must do" moderate mountaineering routes in Colorado.
