Continental Airlines McDonnell Douglas DC-10 takes off from Manchester in the mid 1990's. Not sure of the exact year.

  • I'd love to do a tour of the boneyards in Arizona, just to see some of the old airliners there, i bet there would be hundreds of them there.

  • Those places would be amazing to go and have a look around.

  • i miss aircraft like the DC10 and L1011.

  • Yeah I used to like the DC-10's. Used to see a lot of them in Manchester with Laker, Wardair and CP Air in the late 70's and 80's. TriStar was another classic. Managed to get a jumpseat ride in a TriStar years ago, fantastic plane.

  • I was never a big fan of the DC10 for this reason that there is a great amount of angle difference between the wings and the elevators, it makes the tail of the plane look awkward ... (and yes, I DO realize that planes are meant to fly well, not look good ... but I care what they look like as well so there ... )

  • @funkabby1 You can clearly see the airplanes from the road when you drive from Phoenix to Tucson or vice-versa. There are a ton of planes sitting out there. Really cool to see.

  • Cool! The DC-10 classics!
