  • Wow! They actually interupted the show! i didn't think they did that anymore. Great post!

  • Great clip. Thanks for posting.

As far as I know, you're the first person who's posted the full 10-second version of the new CBS News Special Report animation that debuted in May.

I have the audio (but not the video) of CBS's special report on Peter Jennings' death - yes, a *CBS* report on the ABC anchor's passing. I should probably post it.

  • For me, it's Cronkite, Jennings, Brokaw and everyone else. Miss those guys.

  • @altfactor You want more irony. Cronkite most famous news story (the Death of JFK) interrupted a CBS series (As The World Turns), and now his death almost 40 years later interrupts another CBS series (Ghost Whisperer).

  • Ironically, Walter Cronkite passed away during the 40th anniversary week of the first manned moon landing (Apollo 11), perhaps the one event he'll be best remembered for.

  • The old fart was living with Carly Simon's sister at 92. Got to give to him, he had nads for an old man of his advanced years.

  • RIP Walter Cronkite. And that's the way it EVER WILL BE!

  • Although Walter Cronkite didn't join CBS News full-time until 1950, I thought he had worked as a stringer for the network during World War II in Europe in addition to being a correspondent for the United Press wire service.

  • whenever i hear "this is a [so-and-so] special report", i get chills

  • Famous Legend of CBS.
