The oscilloscope is in X/Y-mode, with right channel connected to X and left to Y input. Z (brightness) input is not used.

Most soundcards (and other players) seem to have a lowpass filter at about half of the samplerate, making some effects here look quite strange. The soundcard used in this video just didn't have proper filters so it happens to be suitable for these effects.

No sweep. X aixs is not time. Scope in X-Y mode.

Pretty sophisticated SW. I've done similar since the 80s, but laser on a screen & my SW. Serpintine text a bit rough, but it says you developed the SW ... I'm publishing my SW. Although it's for a special maching that still has followers (CoCo), I also explain the basics of sophisticated laser graphics. Though I haven't, I could just as easily display on a scope with speed changes. Do you have anything that talks about the software?

step 1: write code which generates an image with xy-coordiantes

step 2: use a digital-analog converter to convert your y-axis values to proper voltages

step 3: the x-axes is the time, so just make sure to dump you y-axis values. u just need to be faster than the beam running on x-axis!

step 4: enjoy
