I have several 50 20 5 2 1 bills from the 1940-50's. Collected them in 98 when I was working at a gas station. Was amazed how often I would come across old bills and coins.

all worthless now with the exception of the coins which are silver. I was disgusted with how cheap the 1$ coin was (the Indian) many of them were already scuffed after only a year or two in circulation whereas coins 20+ years were still mint.

Not is the value of currency dropping... the quality of the materials are.
