"Life: what matters most is the freedom to live."

Inspired by the tragic tale of Dorian Gray and the life and times of Oscar Wilde, this short film explores the notion of carefree living.

Sometimes, the appearance of an exuberance and decadent lifestyle belies a less than desirable secrets that create inhibition and self-apprehension. Just like Mr. Gray who leads his life in fear of his own portrait and the secrets it so willingly present.

The film tries to capture the innocence, worry-less and relaxed state of living that so many desire. Especially as the world gets more and more complicated.

CREDITS:

Written, directed and edited by Leonard Leao.

Filmed with the help of the talented Nicole Yeoh and Wong Woei.

Enhanced with the sound of "The Arrival of the Birds" by the amazing Cinematic Orchestra.

Inspired by the melancholy of The Picture of Dorian Gray and Oscar Wilde.

Created exclusively for State of the Arts KL.
