Trimming hydrangeas should be done as soon as they are done blooming for the season, and only the brown or dead pieces should be pruned off. Avoid trimming back more than one-third of the plant at a time with gardening advice from a sustainable flower grower in this free video on plant care.

  • @Cornmuffin333 Oh please, she said it. #1 It doesn't work. If you're going to put together a video advising people you have an obligation to get things right. #2 It's dangerous. Putting rusty nails in the soil where people will be digging and spreading mulch is just asking for somebody to get stuck and get tetnus.

Again, if you want to know what REALLY works, get a soil test done by the state ag. service and add aluminum sulfate according to the results.

  • @unclematt3 or how about you back off because she obviously said that she HEARD people doing, but she said that she doesn't like to do it, so back off!

  • Put rusty nails in the soil?!? This woman is an expert? What about get a soil analysis and then adding aluminum sulfate according to directions to lower the pH of the soil and add aluminum? That will turn your hydrangeas blue. Good night, rusty nails.

  • but i do LOL

  • madonna dosent like Hydrangeas lol

  • or you could just plant a Nikko blue hydrangea bush

  • does anyone know the name of the hydrangeas she's showing?? I have that one and I love the way it turns from a light green color to that gorgeous hot pink. I wanna get the lavender one next.

  • does rusty nails in the soil keep the flower blue, thanks to anyone who can help me
