@1899sharkey My apologies,I had too many pages open. I'll delete my comments on this page. again,My apologies. Thank-you for bringing it too my attention.
@Nickcat5 - You need to read a little more carefully. I was answering the question of whether or not this was Clays pro debut. Where did i say something about a knockdown?
Lamar Clark had a streak of 44 KO's against MUCH lesser opposition,in some cases guys who'd never won a fight. Still something to be said for it,I guess
This appears to be the Lamar Clark fight. Ring looks more like Freedom Hall in Louisville than the Miami Beach Convention center, which is where the Herb Siler fight was held. Also, photos of the Clark knockout show the referee dressed about the same as in the video.
The confusing thing is the graphic on the film which shows the KO in round 4; Clay knocked Clark out in the 2nd.
@macvatu Sonny Banks was the guy who knocked down a young Cassius Clay. Sonny Banks was a rising prospect as was Clay as he was known then. Banks was known as a powerful puncher and had a sharp strong left hook as his best weapon. That same hook floored Clay as he began to stick his chin out too far when he was attacking Banks. Clay came back and won by KO in 4 rounds.

@MyBenjamin66 You're correct in your assessment. Clark wasn't a very good boxer,Just a guy who relied on the big punch.
