Mr. and Mrs. Andy Gongola of McMacken, West Virginia, have been honored for their support of a local high school football team. "One or more of our sons has played on the team ... every year for the past 23 years." Betsy guesses immediately. Their sons then appear (they have no daughters): Herman, Frank, Stanley, twins Ed and Fred, Tom, Pete (whose birthday is today), John, Vic, Anthony, Joe, and Emil. All have won a total of 82 letters in various sports.
Good stuff here, The Gongolas were all fine ballplayers, too. I think Pete (or maybe Anthony) got a cup of coffee with the baseball Cardinals. And Herman played fullback at Ohio State, if I'm not mistaken.
