Johnny Huang vs. Alexey Smirnov

Johnny Huang (CAN) - an all short pips shakehand hitter - plays against Alexey Smirnov (RUS). Huang's "old school" lightning quick hitting gives Smirnov fits but the latter proves too consistent in the end.

Edit: This was at the Super Circuit held in Japan.

Huang was at his peak in the mid-1990s. Notably at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics he upset and thus eliminated Jan Ove Waldner (SWE), the 1992 and reigning Olympic Champion.

I do not know where this game was held but Huang is clearly already at the end of his career. This video unfortunately just shows flashes of his former brilliance.
