Holy shit. I just found this 1 year old comment. I've never seen people's ass kicked so thoroughly in so few characters. Wonderful. My hat goes off to you, sir.

@emoxiolydian For a guy Who has a Jazz Degree, you should also let the guy know that ,b7 (That Being Dominant) Is Used in BOTH blues and Jazz, And they Do Have a Vague Reference to Blues Rhythm in the Beginning.. Hes Just Some Guy talking, You shouldve left it be.....Not saying your Wrong, but you left a few things out to prove your point, or more rather your title...

@LHCLEGION The Sax & Guitar juxtapose blues lines on top of a more colorful and unconventional harmony, as Magus' Theme is just a phrygian vamp - not a blues .
The song then moves into a straight sax solo. Jazz is rooted in improvisation and spontaneous creation through musicians; this shines in this section. It then moves into a chaotic ad-lib section where the Saxophonist clearly channels a Free Jazz vibe while the walking bass beneath offers a new harmonic rhythm.
It's Jazz, not Blues.
