Ill trust the testimony of Vietnam vets who actually experienced it, before any partisan demagogue supporting the jingoistic myth of American exceptionalism, including John Kerry. What a coward, reneging on his testimony at Winter Soldier and outright lying. Intelligent Americans come to terms with reality, accept them and start the healing process like mature adults. Ignoring things and running away with ears plugged screaming "LALALALALALA!" is not healthy or indicative of maturity whatsoever.

He's just a Gigalo who leeches off wealthy women.. I guess his first wife wasn't rich enough for him. She was only a millionaire. So he left her for Teresa Heinz who is a multi millionaire. Least he aims high.

no you told me to F off more like 10 times. but here you are not Fing off yourself. You don't bother me. CAn't you get that? You don't "hurt" my feelings either. So whatever man, you're the one starting problems, not me. The way you talk to people you disagree with is below me. Learn to disagree with respect is all I'm saying.

Cool, well man, why do you disagree? I think Vietnam was messed up. Do you think it was legit? Cool man, my opinion may be f'd up. Why though? My mind's been changed before by people, it can happen again.

I don't care what you feel, what you think or what you believe. Give me the facts. I'm listening. It's disgraceful for Kerry who fought in the war to join forces with Jane Fonda and condemn all the men who gave their lives for the ungrateful people of Viet Nam. Vets who returned from Viet Nam were spit on hit, ridiculed, threatened, and persecuted for being there. There were far more atrocities committed against the US soldiers than the VC army and supporters. I lost friends over there.

Hey there reynolds, the facts as I know them was that vietnam was a traumatizing war for both sides. The viets were guerilla style fighters and that made it demoralizing for america to fight an army when they didn't know who was good and who was bad. I think some of the americans got mentally F'd up and started taking out anyone. That happens to people in war. As for you friend, I am very sorry I didn't know you situation man. And I'm sorry to hear about how the troops were treated. thats bad.

I also heard that the vietnam war was a politically motivated war, and that people died for nothing. Thats why when I heard about it I was against the idea of it. But as for the troops, I hear ya - they should still get the respect they deserve no matter how bad the war was. People who spat on the troops were miguided and didn't look at the big picture. If I was one of the troops it would be hard not to react to those civvys who acted like that.

And don't forget - most of the troops sent to Vietnam were DRAFTED - they were not volunteers !! They were VICTIMS of the misguided political system of the time and were HEROIC for not fleeing to Canada or going to jail as an objector. They deserve the UPMOST respect.

again, sorry man for your friends. I once had a math teacher who was in vietnam. He was in the canadian marines. He was kinda messed up..still called the vietnamese gooks. He said he also lost a lot of friends over there. Its sad. That was one of the worst places to be - malaria and diseases as well as frikin guerillas poppin up from rice paddies. Traps and crap. Of course I just found that out from movies like most people.....I heard full metal jacket was the most realistic from my teach
