In light of the murder of Dr. Tiller, the call for "martyrs" takes on a new and ominous meaning. This is almost Jihadist or Talibanesque.

Lou Engle is part of something called the "New Apostolic Reformation." Another prominent practitioner is Sarah Palin.

NAR is about "spiritual warfare," "witchcraft," "demons," and healing.

Anyway, since he is urging his followers to become "martyrs," i.e. take the law into their own hands, law enforcement might want to keep an eye on Lou Engle.

I just think the beliefs Engle are incredibly dangerous and sad. It makes me sad to know that people like him are literally wasting the only life they have.

What really really bothers me is the apocalyptic beliefs. In my opinion, it is detrimental to the social and political progress that humans have made.

I am an atheist though, so we are on totally different levels. I also think that literal bible interpretation is intellectual dishonesty and manipulation

Well said. Hate the sin love the sinner. If you were drinking poison it would not be very loving of me to let you drink it would it? And if you got mad at me and called me hateful does that mean the poison is now safe to drink? I think not.
