Awww this nearly made me cry! I've loved Darth Vader ever since I was little (triangular mouth? awesome) and have to admit I cried at both episode 3 and 6 - big, heartbreaking moments in his life. Anakin/Vader was a family man who loved Padme so much, he married, he created a child with her. It actually breaks my heart to think he was separated from her and the children he would have loved so much. *tries to pull self together as these characters are fictional*

After watching the Prequals you start to understand what Vader is thinking in that scene, he sees a chance redeem himself for what he'd done on Mustafar, and while the Galaxy would never forgive him for his crimes, maybe he could win the forgiveness of the one person who still saw a man where others saw a monster, and the one person who mattered the most: his son. It's seems fitting that Anakin's last request was to see his son's face, and find peace by dying as a man and not a monster
