Jameelah Medina, a practicing Muslim who was forced by police to remove her hijab (headscarf), spoke about Muslim womens religious freedom rights at the ACLU Human Rights Program conference, "Keeping Your Faith in Post-9/11 America: Religious and Ethnic Discrimination and Human Rights," in November 2008 at the Muslim Unity Center in Bloomfield Hills, MI. • I remembered that my father had to learn English in order to function in American society. Why is Islam allowed to push its rights on American society? First they want to speak non-English, then they wear the hijab/kufi. What's next? Minarets everywhere we walk??

  • this isn't even good.... WATCHDESPERATEHOUSEWIVES2 ( . ) TK

  • Lets all keep in mind that this case was settled in the Socialist Democratic Republic of California where a man was sued for pulling a woman from a car accident and rendering first aid; where it is illegal to say "under god" but a muslim woman can sue the state for removing her head dress. This is why I would sooner move to france than the state of california.

  • you don't have my support because your religion is discriminating itself by discriminating everythings that is not Islamic

  • I am a western woman, christian of faith, and ashamed of how north america treats our muslim fellow human beings. I am very proud of you as simply a fellow woman for insisting on your rights both as a woman and a woman follwing your faith.you go girl!

  • it is so sad how they treat muslim women ....people need to grow up ....all muslims are not terrorists.......

  • yo maama is so ugly she covers with a scarve.. i support aclu when they fight against fukd up convictions but they must understand the discrimination n bigotry by the members of religion of peace

  • None of that would have happened if she had only had a valid commuter train pass.
