Second in my series of adventures with steam engines.
I have tightened up some of the linkages and most importantly added a live steam boiler.
I think this must fall under the heading of "DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME" as steam is very dangerous and can cause serious burns.
Enjoy.

  • If you watch the first vid you hear me say that it came from a machine that I rebuilt at work. It was part of a reversing clutch in the transmission of a coil winding machine.

  • It runs a really long time on one charge of water in that little spray can. I run out of fire long befor I run out of water.

  • To make a construction video I would have to build another engine, and I don't have the time to desire to do that right now.

I have already explained about the valve and piston in previous messages, please scroll down and read them.

Coal or any other fuel at all can be used to heat the boiler. Just modify the boiler mount to make room.

I'm glad you like the video. I had fun building the engine and making the video.

  • After seeing someone elses video of a similar engine eplode I am discontinuing my offer of the engine plans. Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

I will continue to answer questions as time allows.

  • Where did you get that silinder ? Or how you made it ?

  • The cylinder is a short section of 1/2 inch copper water pipe.
