There's only one acoustic guitar cover of this on YouTube and I've been studying it all night to learn this wonderful song. (The cover is really good, by the way!) This song just kind of fell into my head having not heard it in years, and now I can't get it out - and don't want to. Thanks for posting it.

A classic that has haunted me for about 40 years. Yes it would be nice to return the uncomplicated, simple days of childhood love but.....

I first heard this when I was only 4 years old. It just had a sound and arrangment that captured my center so much, that I would play it over and over. What did I ever know about relationships at that age! I am so grateful for Glen Campbell and Jimmy Web. Thank you Gentlemen for all you have given me.

Just...wonderful.

Lyrics are a bit clunky...but the music is brilliant.

There have been a few collaborations of writers and singers...But the duo of Glen Campbell and Jimmy Webb has to go down in history as one of the best.

@ussvoyager2001 "Glen Campbell has a singularly unique singing characteristic. One that will never be duplicated by anyone. " Exactly. His voice is like a glider-aeroplane flying. Soaring, clean, no gravity... He could have been a great classic bariton singer, he had so much talent... in his young years he is timeless. I am from Bavaria, Germany, bought the LP "Glen Campbell Anne Murray about 1980, and from that year I admire him of that voice at that time.
Kind regards to Glen, Reinhard

@ussvoyager2001 As Steven King once wrote " the true beauty of first love is our ignorance that it can ever end"

Glen Campbell has a singularly unique singing characteristic. One that will never be duplicated by anyone. this song, brought me to my knees when I first heard it many years ago. I lost the one true love of my life. Time has moved on, and those memories which were faded and gray, are back now in color. I wonder whatever became of her? Where she is? I like to tell her she's still in my heart. Thank you for posting this beautiful song. Peace.
