Over the weekend, the #OccupyWallStreet protesters marched to Union Square. The NYPD became incredibly aggressive and in one instance, which is going viral online, maced a group of girls who were doing nothing more than standing in one place where the police themselves had corralled them.

Many responses to this video sadden me. Nobody is obliged to to agree with anyone's opinion. You don't have to agree with their reason for protest. But, if you believe in American values, then you have to agree they have the right to protest their own grievances. No American, if you agree or agree to disagree, should EVER be subject to police brutality or force against the practice of rights and liberties. This is unacceptable.
