As a musician, pop punk derived from punk, punk derived from reggae, reggae derived from ska. If you don't like the vocally tuned voices just listen to rancid

What about this is just music everyone's shitting about the genre if you dont like it just leave please.
I agree. I read the word punk. I press play. I hear the same girl cry for 12 songs. the only good band was "the braces" and that is because the singer was a chick. I realize that emo is a sub-category that relates to punk as a genre, but cant it just be in its own genre? I'm tired of mistakenly listening to adults in clothing fit for infant girls as they whine about life. Grow TFU pansies.

@KevinMcCloud12 I would consider emo to be it's own genre already. Emo would be bands like Aiden and MCR. Most people listen to music like this because it's relatable. Throughout their lives, everyone goes through their own musical evolution. I, personally, began with listening to nothing but hardcore punk and have since gone through everything from death metal and grindcore, to jazz and trance. Also, if you think pop punk is for "pansies," try going to a TWY show, then talk to me.
