  • does it support multi touch ?

  • @joeserin1 Actually, there are a lot of options. You can for example set it to resize the app to half of the screen when you want to tipe and on the other half the keyboard to appear and after you hide the keyboard the app resizes to it's initial size.

  • You know, even compared to Android and iOS, I think GNOME 3 is already pretty much ready for tablets. I didn't think it was possible something could be so well adapted to touch AND desktop use. Of course, the touch-only settings that they're planning will make it much quicker and less burdensome to run GNOME 3 on a tablet.

With XInput 2.2 and kinetic scrolling coming to GTK, I think GNOME 3 will be a very flexible solution for tablets. It's too bad the hardware available to us is so limited.

Pn´nen?

Für 2 Finger scrollen, Pinch to zoom usw. .

    Danke Nils

Awesome! Thank you! It's looking more and more like I want Ubuntu on a tablet with Gnome-shell. I don't feel Unity is completely ready to be used as a tablet interface just yet. Seeing that the buttons are so small.

In the final version of Ubuntu 11.10, another onscreen keyboard, caribou, is used.

It fades in an also out, when it is not used.

And you can hide it, with a button, like this one, too

  • Here's a question. If I decided to purchase one of these and install 11.10, is there a way to remove the onscreen keyboard with a button instead of just having it block the whole screen?
