i saw HARD WORK! excellent job.

your dogs look great! I trial/train for AKC, but I watch a lot of Schutzhund obedience dogs and a lot of them seem out of position to me, they curl their bodies and get way too infront of the handler to make eye contact. But it seems to be accepted as people comment that the heeling is fantastic. Your dogs have really good CORRECT position AND attention, nice work!

You have two iconic breeds... Its amazing to see the physical difference in hind legs among these two shepherds...
I really wish German shepherds were built more like malinois appose to todays standards....
I love your post... Thanks allot.

Why the shock collar on the shepherd?

I use a vibrate from the remote collar with the GSD because she doesn't always like to "out" her ball/toy. I never use it for the heeling or focus.

Thank you! We do work hard :) But I also must give credit to my dogs who are very willing/driven learners!

Wow, that is AMAZING! How... when... WOW!
I'm getting myself a GSD in two monts or so. Can you tell me what's the secret of heeling? :D If not, can you at least tell me why is he looking straight in your eyes? I don't think I could ever teach a dog to do that kind of stuff. Really impressive, I envy you; but you're probably professional, so...
Thanks for this video!

Thank you!
There are a few secrets: LOTS OF WORK - LOTS OF POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT when your dog looks at you - teach a look command and reward by feeding a treat (do this by feeding the treat in a line from your eyes to your dogs eyes) - build a great relationship with your dog.
I am a professional trainer now, but I wasn't when I taught the german shepherd in the video to heel this way.
ENJOY!
