We're talking all about the New Moon Werewolves, up next!
What's going on? I'm Dana Ward at Clevver TV with a New Moon profile. We're breaking down all the 411 on werewolves from the Twilight Saga. Ok guys, Major spoiler alert, If you havent read all the books please click on the link here and watch the latest New Moon Trailer instead!
So let's start out with their appearance. They suddenly change at any time from human to wolf and back-and-forth, a process described as mentally - not physically - painful. When in human-form, their skin is burning hot, and injuries heal extremely quickly. As a werewolf, each one varies slightly in size and color, ranging from deep gray to rusty brown to black, but most are monstrous in size. We do know that an individual's wolf form is slightly related to the human form, because in Ecilpse, Jacob says he is furrier than the other wolves because his hair is longer as a person. When a child begins to change into animal form, he or she accelerates growth to an adult-size and most of them look exactly the same at that point right before transformation- down to their expressions and looks. Also, as long as they keep going into their wolf form, they will not age.
One of the main abilities of the wolves in the Twilight series is their speed. They are superhuman in their ability to run, often being named as the best part of being a werewolf. It's even argued that these wolves are faster on foot than vampires. Their sense of smell is also a great ability as it helps them hunt and of course to identify their one enemy, the vampire. Its said they can smell vampires from a long distance, labeling the scent as sickly sweet and repellent.
Another wolf characteristic is the wolfpack effect, which makes them even stronger when together, meaning they can move as one superior power. All of the wolves can also hear each others thoughts, so they can communicate warnings and plans-of-attack immediately. The downside with that is that the whole pack pretty much knows everyone's business aswell. That could get a little annoying.
Like in any wolfpack, there must always be a leader an alpha. And as a member of the pack one cannot refuse any order from the alpha, no matter what It is. That could get a little annoying too.
It is known that the Quileute werewolves are created when there are vampires nearby. For example, the pack in the Twilight series is existent in order to protect the sacred Indian land. Now, If we delve more into the history of the Quileute werewolves, we realize that in actuality they are shape-shifters. They could actually transform into different animals. However, it is mentioned in the books that there are also true "full moon" type werewolves in the twilight universe. In fact, the volturi have almost hunted them to extinction in Europe and its also mentioned that james and laurent had encountered them at some point.
Well, That's it for now - Thanks for watching the show. Always come straight to Clevver TV for all of your Twilight series news and gossip. I'm Dana Ward, see you next time!
