  • I am retired sailor and started my career on one of these old ladies. USS Willard Keith DD775. Lots of memories here, thank you for sharing this one.

  • Sir -- Thanks for your kind note and your service to our country. I was only in the navy for 6 years. I was on DD-786, The USS Richard B Anderson for two years, close hull number to you DD775. They were great ships.

  • Hey Ron, yes they were great fighting ships with some great crews. I eventually got to the USS Talbot FFG-4 in later years and served as a conning officer on her. That was my favorite tour of my career of 7 ships. Tin Can sailors are a special breed indeed.
