Brian Krause plays James Murphy, a cigarillo-smoking cryptozoologist,who is on the hunt for the Loch Ness Monster (a 60 foot prehistoric reptile) that killed his father years ago. He is a man driven to find the creature after having had a near fatal encounter with 'Nessie' when he was only 12 witnessing the horror of his father's death, before it disappeared without a trace from the Loch Ness in Scotland leaving a parmenent scar on his face.

In this scene, James(Brian Krause) sits quietly in the Sheriffs office while the Sheriff & the other cop get the wild life reports of a victim of the Loch ness monster. The Sheriff admits that the reports states that the bite marks doesn't match any existing creature in the animal kingdom. When she asks James if he has seen this kinda stuff, he doesn't react that much & states he is a cryptzoologist. The Sheriff gets the picture & lets him out & together they go off to lake to hunt down the Loch Ness monster.
