Making nitrate free bacon and eggs with an antique cast iron bacon and eggs breakfast skillet.

Teflon is poison! Cast Iron is cookware for life.

  • Is that a Wagner? Watching eBay currently for a good deal on one of these. Love my Cast Iron and this would be a nice addition!

  • @advres Thank you for your comment. Pan in the vid is unknown, not a mark on it. I've since upgraded to a Wagner Ware bacon and egg breakfast skillet #1101 and love it. I bet you will too.

  • can i ask what size your spatula is? I'm debating between a 4" and 5" turner. I'd be ordering it from online so i can't see a physical comparison up close. The one you were using looked perfect for the pans I'd be using. Thanks, and nice pan!

  • @jsumudio Thanks for your question. A metal spatula is the way to go with cast iron. 2.5" wide and 4.5" to the 1st bend. Also make sure to get one with rounded corners.

  • I absolutely love that pan. I am a cast iron junkie as well.

  • @katriel25 I know exactly what you mean!

  • @advres I have this exact one, and yes, it's a Wagner. I'll sell it to you :)

  • @Sm1nts2escape I never thought of that...it makes sense that the coating is the sugar becoming matte as a byproduct of heat. Thanks, I appreciate the feedback and will start sourcing less commercial bacon. Have a great day. Cheers.

  • @avroarrow204 Your bacon has too much sugar in it which crystallizes on the iron from the heat. Most bacon from the grocery stores is highly treated with sugars and salts. Try some bacon from your local meat market.

  • When I fry bacon in my Cast Iron, it starts leaving a brown matte surface on my pan. I have to scrape it clean. What am I doing wrong? Pan is at med heat, bacon is thawed from the freezer and is easy moving until it starts becoming golden - which is when that film starts. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance & I enjoyed the video.

  • Great video. I will be cooking bacon on my cast iron tonight because of your brilliance.

  • Cast iron skillets last forever. My mom has been using the same skillet for over 40 years, and after she passes away I'll be using it until I pass away.

  • True cast iron/breakfast porn. lol But on the real I want a pan like this.
