Hi classic music lovers. I found this piece this morning on a VHS recording I made years ago from the Vermont National Public Radio station, a 1936 archive record where Maria Eckert sings Voices Of Spring. Which brought me here. Now, as with Maria Eckert 1936 singing, K.Battle brings tears in my eyes, a kind of pure joy. I should find how to program my PC as an alarm clock to start this piece to wake me up each morning ! As my mom says in french, from the word "marvelous" : « merveillousse ! »

This is gorgeous. I love this song and Kathleen Battle.
However, I feel a little bad that occasionally images of Curly from the Three Stooges lip syncing in drag pop into my head. It does give me a chuckle, though.

I now have to relpace every window in my study. But it was worth it.

Our beautiful Kathleen in Vienna.
This is the best Voices of Spring ever recorded. It may be "light" or "airy" but for me this is just how Strauss intended it. You can tell by the enthusiastic reaction from the usually staid Vienna audience that they thought the same. Nine minutes of perfection. Bravissimo Kathleen! ! !

OMG I cannot believe this INCREDIBLE performance. I can't stop watching it. Kathleen is absolutely flawless in her delivery in every way. I have watched many other clips of this piece and I keep coming back to this one. She has the most beautiful voice for this piece and completely sets the standard for me. There is nothing but perfection in this absolutely glorious performance. No matter what's been said about Ms. Battle, this lady is by far a cut above all others, hands down!

This song was used in Star Fox on the SNES. It is played in the level called "Out of this Dimension!"
