The Making of Off & On - The Music of Moacir Santos
Moacir Santos was a genius, and the greatest Brazilian songwriter of them all.
Mark Levine & The Latin Tinge re-create some of his best songs with the CD that is the subject of this video,
to be released in September 2009.
Mark Levine, piano
Mary Fettig, flute and soprano saxophone
Michael Spiro, percussion
Paul van Wageningen, drums
John Wiitala, bass
Thanks Makla. First time I saw this. Not sure about some of the video effects, like slow motion. I prefer to see people playing in real time, especially when it's this kind of music. I do like the interspersed interviews. Again, thanks for keeping Moa alive. Paul Smith, Moacir Santos alumnus.

There were actually 3 Bluenote albums. Mark really nails it. This is a wonderful CD and a great proper tribute to Moacir. I had the pleasure of knowing him and playing with him. I love this CD.

Moacir Santos is so overdue. I love those two BlueNote albums, and this looks like a great project.
