37109 seen powering through Radcliffe station on the Manchester Metrolink, 37901 and 37418 providing banking assistance from the rear. The East Lancs class 37s were involved in engineering work on the Metrolink at Whitefield Bank. Their duties were to bring the trains from Bury yard to the worksite at Whitefield.

  • Am I right in thinking that this was when the line was closed for upgrading a few years ago

  • @Radcliffeduo yes, it was February 2010. Part of the metrolink was shut. The train on the video was working near Whitefield.
