Prime minister Raila Odinga is proposing the scrapping of the quota system for high schools admissions. This he argues will allow students and teachers to seek admission and teach in any part of the country. Raila was speaking at Lenana high school, in Nairobi.

  • It is about time. This is how it was before Moi. Tribes were more tolerant of each other. Kenyans need to start thinking of themselves as Kenyans first and tribe second. Kenyans of my generation thought themselves as Kenyans first.

  • Roger that.

  • I tatally agree with that idea. Before the Moi administration ,teachers used to be posted in any school in the country and this enabled kenyans to see the whole country as one. There was no tribalism.Moi divided kenyans by restricting teachers and students to their ethnic regions.Alot of changes need to be made.I would like to see kikuyu teachers inNyanza and kalenjin teachers in Tana River District.Diversity is what kenya lacks from within its borders.
