This video presents the closing shot of every episode of The Incredible Hulk television series, in the order they aired, edited to The Lonely Man theme that played under them.

While there were 82 episodes of the show, there were not 82 unique walk-away endings. Some endings were reused (as many as seven times) and four episodes were two-parters. As a result, there were actually 54 different endings in the TV series. And they're all here in under two minutes.

One of the most memorable refrains of any television show was David Banner (Bill Bixby) walking off at the end of each episode of CBS's The Incredible Hulk to continue his search for a way out of his tortured life while Joe Harnell's melancholy piano score The Lonely Man played underneath. It's an icon of late 70s, early 80s TV. And it has become a minor meme referred to in a 2006 episode of The Family Guy with Stewie Griffin hitchhiking a la Bill Bixby. The Harnell music was used in the 2008 movie The Incredible Hulk.

Many may recall the show always ended shot was always of Banner hitchhiking along a lonely road while the camera pulled away. That really happens about half of the time. Sure, he was (almost) always hitchhiking on a lonely road (or highway), but sometimes he walks down a sidewalk, twice he's in a boat, and on two occasions, he's not even walking alone.

So, sit back, and hold back a tear watching every sad ending to The Incredible Hulk television series -- in the order in which they aired: from the original made-for-TV movie through to the show's final episode in season five.

  • Of course some were used multiple times throughout.

  • @videozfann True. In fact, some shows used the the head of a shot and others the tail. In those cases, we edited the pieces together to get the maximum possible length of any walk away shot.
