FMS Giant EPO P-51D Mustang 'Marie' Pre-Flight Test

FMS Giant P-51 Pre-Flight Test This is just assembled, Looks INSANE! Nose cone his not perfectly balanced but what the hell. This really is a work of art-- only mod I can think of is install hook post/guide on the push rod for the rudder, it's really long, and bows out, also maybe add a retractable rear gear, check out PARTYjohn69 vid. Also fixed the unbalanced spinner, just removed it and sanded it flush, now perfect.

I reckon a 4500 would be cool, I have the 4500 Nano-Tech from Turnigy-- but my bird crashed before I flew it with the 4500 - I will try mine next time I fly. All my other LiPos fit nicely 2200, 3000, 3600, and 4000, my 4500 was tight-- I had to force it in but its foam so no worries. Go for it-- this P-51 has a lot of wing surface so I'd no worries with the 4500 weight wise-- btw check out my other vid on th erebuild-- if you have ANY servo twitter replace it!! good luck!.

@lummox1212 Hey dude, check out my maiden vids from yesterday-I flew a Turnigy 3600 4s, 3000 4s, today I flew a 2650 4s, 3600, 3300. It flew great on all the batts, but I did notice it took off instantly with the 2650. Notice that you can slide the LiPo into the compartment and easily adjust it to get CoG-- definitely check your CoG before you fly. So short answer NO, 3300 is not too heavy, it flew great on my 3600 and I may try my 4000 tomorrow- check out my other vids- thanks for watching!

@drakie72 No worries its 'Oh my' by Gin Wigmore... yeah its a great plane-- and HUGE! If you get one watch out if you get servo twitch, replace it right away, mine acted up on the beach before a flight, the flaps were twitching then the rear tail wheel was tweaking, but flew anyway-- turns out that a bad servo can cause the others to fail! The plane barely cleared the waves on takeoff and just veered into the ocean! Anyway highly recommended-- its a work of art...Thanks for watching!

@inthetubedeep We have only used the stock 4 blade which I have to say not only looks great but does the job very well. It doesn't produce high RMP/speed but the thrust, imho, is just right for this plane. I do use a 14x8APC on my BF-109 and it is significantly faster than the P-51 using the same motor. However I find myself contantly wanting to slow it down to keep it close in. I hope your maiden went well, cheers.
