This was recorded in 1967 and released, very hastily, in 1973 when other record labels paid interest. Alice Gerrard is listed as Alice Foster, Alice Fister and Alice Goster all on one album. They were good at recording history and lacking in the proofreading department. But, there were no spell checks back then.

Sad to say, Hazel Dickens died today, 4-22-11. She was just 75 and still performing her wonderful songs & songs by other songwriters too.

I'm proud to say that I've got some wonderful original Folkways vinyl LPs of this same marvellous musical genre, and from this same era. I do greatly regret, however, that I have never come by nor even previously known of the existence of this particular, obviously fabulous album. Thank you !!

Awesome. If I ever saw a Hazel Dickens record in someones collection, and I never have, I would be VERY impressed.
