"Healing Now." That's something I hope I can say someday.

Not to forget that nearly every track on 2 is more of what I want to hear from Pain of Salvation: adapting their style to work within the context of different genres. The melodic stylings and songwriting tendencies shown on 2 are still vintage Pain of Salvation, and that's kind of where 1's weaknesses lay. The entire album felt like an extended intro to 2, even more so now that 2 is out.

@FinallyEditing I would agree that it's a lot more refined; the basic ideas and principles on RS2 are the same as RS1 but further into the natural progression that RS1 laid out. I see what you mean about the broken feel of the compositions, and I think that spirit lingers on RS2 but, as you said, more refined. Plus the added aura of...almost melancholy on this album gives it more soul. RS1 is the skeleton and RS2 is the spirit, I think.

I'd agree 2 is better, but for different reasons. I like RS1 mainly because of the more wintry, broken feel of many of the compositions. RS2 is like everything I enjoyed about the songwriting on 1, but more defined.

@EOGS4492 It doesn't. This one is so much better. I can appreciate RS1 for being part of the bigger concept of the Road Salt series and the continuation of Daniel exploring a new style, but RS1 was pretty mediocre compared to..well, just about any other PoS release. It had a few good songs but as an album it was pretty lackluster.

It's been years since I had an album touch me that hard

What are your thoughts on how this one compares to Road Salt One?
I can't stop listening to this album, it's going to eat me alive.

Best music to describe when you decided to go on with your live after breaking a relationship... some scars left behind...
(but sayans get stronger after getting very bad)
