After just buying my new 2010 BMW F800GS, my Dad rode his Harley Fatboy up from Florida to meet me in Tulsa, OK. (05-29 to 05-30-2010) I surprised him with the news of my new bike and we took off on a ride the next day to Buffalo River Arkansas. It was a short two day trip but worth every mile. This gave me a chance to adjust my bike and make a list of things I'd need for upcoming longer trips - seat pad, luggage, rain gear, etc. Our ride led us down HWY 412 to Yellville, AR then south on 14 to the Rush landing campground on the Buffalo River. After playing with the bikes at the river crossing and saving the Harley from its drowning spill, we made camp and enjoyed our time at the river. The next morning the road led to a short cave hike and our ride back to Tulsa.

  • Awesome Video!! Looks like it was some good father son time!! Not sure which bike I like better. I was a cruiser, but the option to take it off rode is very tempting.

  • @YoungAmericanOutback : That was my problem when looking for my first bike. However, if you get past the "wanting to look and sound good" the "just having fun" makes up for it. Since this trip I have gone many places I would have never visited on a cruiser - I can't imagine not having seen these palces!

  • @jodym2008 For me it's ALL about the ride and having fun. I ride a 2003 honda shadow 750 so looking cool isn't really an option. It's been more about affordability. Single income family with 3 kids makes it near impossible to "Look Cool." LOL. I love being on the road. Can't wait until my sons are old enough to ride!!
