I give up. The ConnectR program was canceled before it was ever sold, but it is clear I can never change your mind. But the fact is, Rovio and Spykee are the only two commercially sold consumer level virtual presence robots to date. ConnectR never made it to market. I'm done arguing. Good night.

sorry, i forgot what the link was. but they used to sell it and when they discovered that discovered that ConnectR, in its current form, needed enhancements and modifications to meet customers expectations for virtual visiting. so they used to sell it but then cancelled it.

Showme a link to a video! They are all old videos from tradeshows, nothing shows they actually sold this. In January 2009, iRobot sent an email that said "Over the last year, thousands of people like you signed up to participate in the iRobot ConnectR pilot program. After beta testing we discovered that ConnectR, in its current form, needed enhancements and modifications to meet customers expectations for virtual visiting. As such, iRobot has decided to cancel the current ConnectR program...."

If it really came out, can you show me one user review, one tech website review, one YouTube video showing a person who owns one? I'm sorry, but I think iRobot customer support lied to you, I think they pulled the plug and never ever had one for sale. Feel free to prove me wrong and show me any evidence connectR was ever for sale. People were definitely interested in this robot, and if it came out, there should be at least a few people who talked about it, made a YouTube video of it, etc.

actually it did come out but no one seems interested so irobot cancelled it. i know because i went to irobot customer support.

sure, i like the connectR better too... too bad iRobot decided to cancel it as a product. it also was going to cost almost twice as much as Rovio... but seemed like a more capable device. Too bad it never came out.

I would imagine dogs would attack a roboreptile rather than rovio simply because it resembles an animal. I wonder what my jack russell would do. I'm pondering getting one.
