At the Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Graphics 2008 Conference (ACM SIGGRAPH 2008), Theresa-Marie Rhyne organized the first class on transportation visualization given at a SIGGRAPH conference. The class was held on Friday afternoon, August 15th, 2008, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This video depicts the slides from Theresa-Marie's lecture on "Defining Transportation Visualization". The class highlighted how transportation planners, engineers, and members of the Transportation Research Board's Committee on Visualization in Transportation are using computer graphics techniques and interactive visual displays in their system planning, project design, construction, and public-involvement activities.
