Music for the People is not a label, it is merely a promoter, an organisation to benefit many by providing a friendly atmosphere and an opportunity for the talented few to create a community in this town.
Music for the People is actively looking for bands to play future shows.

Our booking policy is simple. If you're good enough, strange enough or different enough (from the rest of the line up that night) YOU ARE ON!

Demos can be accepted on MP3, emailed to IWannaPlay@musicforthepeople.co.uk but try to keep the size down. Links to MP3s online will do just as well.

Our gigs are FREE, so our thoughts are this: We want to provide something for EVERYONE. This is REALLY DIFFICULT, as I am sure you know people who like different types of music. We have almost all gone to a night where we have been told we will love one band and the rest are just very samey, not entertaining, but most importantly, not our cup of tea. This is worse if you feel you have paid money just to see one act you like or your mate has told you that you will like! But, it is great if you love punk music and go to a punk nite, replace punk with emo for emo fans, repleace emo with Indie for Indie kids etc etc etc.

So, this is our plan.....as we dont all gravitate to one scene, lets do something for everyone, make it FREE so no one feels ripped off and encourage bands to make their friends stay because you really don't know what could be next! Diversity and difference is the name of the game, so expect a man with a gutair and bongo before a solo Blues set, then it will get rocking with a full live band playing Indie music, a punk band appears before some big beat electro dance to close the evening. All the bands are equal and should enjoy the electic booking policy we employ and stick around till the end if they can.

So we have 3 live acts and 2 acoustic performers per night, ALL FREE. You may walk in and think the band playing are crap. One of them might be your best mate's band and another (you have never seen before) might blow you away. All in all, MUSIC FOR THE PEOPLE is bound to be your cup of Tea!

It was branding for Music For The People, events held at the venue at the end. It ran in the time between artists set up with music overlays to brand the night and the event.

I was involved in making this video. It WAS DESIGNED for no sound, because its intended auidence was on video screens inbetween live bands as filler branding. At the venue during event nights, DJ's played whilst this video ran so any sound would have clashed with DJ.

This was not intended to be a youTube shared video with flashy bits and sound, please please comment with that in mind. Or why not try adding your own soundtrack and uploading it to the video? London Calling by the Clash maybe?
