1971 Datsun 240z on it's own feet!

This is it's first time moving under it's own power in 2 years! I'm so proud of it. First time using the tranny, which to my surprise is a 5 speed out of a 280z (240z has a 4 speed stock). Much much better gearing for highway driving which is one of main problems with the MR2. No muffler so it's a bit obnoxious right now. Some funny noises coming from the fan, and a tinier noise from the carburetor area.

You want to take off that old clutch-style rad fan and install an electric one with shroud in it's place. I had one hooked up to a switch but to be safe you can get one with temp sensor. I think you might have some lifters tapping. They can be adjusted but you must have the specs to do it right.

Hope your car is still going strong! The old Z cars were the best!!

Thanks for the tips. I've sold this car since, the new owner is doing a full on restoration, super excited to see the results. I bought another Z (260) from California since with a nice big aluminum radiator and been loving it
