I saw an Insignia LCD TV sitting out on the curb and just had to bring it home and take a look inside.

  • I have kept everything except the broken LCD panel itself. I am always building new things from old parts-have a garage full of goodies like this. I don't think most people realize the treasures they put on their curbs-sounds like you do though. I have never had any luck using the firmware ports. I will try to light up the tubes when I get a chance-might be a few weeks-really buried now with work. Maybe I'll make an overhead fixture for my workbench using the white panel as a diffuser. Thanks.

  • This is interesting to see. We have one of these setting in the living room. It's nice to see what's actually inside. Thank you.

  • you should keep the plastic things on the LCD if you can use them. id like to see those fluorescent lights light up if you can. and id keep the mainboard, and the audio amp. I see that TV has a USB port on it, mine does too but its under a cover. yours says service on it so maybe they used that to load the firmware of the TV's system software in the factory. I wonder if I can use that to display pictures on a flash drive on my TV. I hope your gonna keep that stuff and use it.
