  • anyone know some of his tunings?

  • D A D F# A D is one of them.

  • What is wrong with those folks who keep getting up and moving around? are they not in awh of a master when they see one ...have some respect. Kottke diserves to play in better surroundings maybe

  • I agree, but this event was in the middle of a park with no chairs, and everybody was just sitting down on big blankets listening, and eating dinner. But me personally, I was "all ears" the entire time!

  • First saw Leo in Southern California in 1979. It seems he has aged like the rest of us, although his music is like fine wine. just gets better with age.

  • Absolutely beautiful. Saw him twice in the Twin Cities area years ago, and there's no one like him that I've heard. Open for suggestions though...

  • @blueswater4 You can find all of Leo's Tunings as well as many other finger-style guitarists tunings and accurate transcriptions at stropes.com

  • I first saw him on Austin City Limits about 25 years ago. Thought he was stoned then but he still sounds the same today so maybe it's just him. Great player!

  • Not so... Even tho I saw him at Bonnaroo and with Jesse Collin Young in 73, he has always played 2-300 halls. From the mishawaka to many opera houses. Totally different when he opened for String Cheese, and when he plays a hall.. Always great tho

  • Not limited to this video, here are some he uses in his set:

Standard, (the one listed above), DGDGAD, DADGBE.

  • Brilliant.
