How STUPID can us Americans get. To get in debt even more just before the stock market crashes. This plan is the worst plan yet and now it's going to backfire. I hate to tell you this but remember that I told you so.

If a car gets better gas mileage, it will go further on less gas by volume which translates into better (less) emissions...

Yeah...you probably like it because you don't pay taxes and are not impacted by it. I hate to see waste anywhere when my money is involved. The 2006 Volvo that is shown being disabled, was hardly at the end of useful life.

Gas miliage dosent equal better emissions though. Most newer cars are more strict. And so what if they are getting into smaller cars. That is what thoes people want but if you had an old shit car or even one that isnt that bad but just sucks you can get what ever the hell you please so long as it gets so many MPG's better then your older car. I presonally dont see anything wrong with this program. Sure i dont like cars dieing but i think its for a good reason they are being replaced.

UUHHH... Have you kept up with which cars are selling...Primarily small cars manufactured from Korean and Japanese companies....Matchbox cars...

I drive an F-250 with a 7.3 liter Navistar diesel that gets just as good if not better gas mileage than a V-6 honda Accord or straight 6 BMW 5 series.

This is nothing but a liberal feel good measure that really does not produce enough of a result to make it worth the trouble.

Me too! I know people with spanking new cars who STILL break down and my car is 20yrs old, never had it done anything so drastic as to needing a tow truck.

Crazy isn't it? AND people don't read the fine print, I did it for sh*t and giggles the other day. You can't even get the car you want! You HAVE to get a base model teeny tiny econo-box. I didn't know they still made roll up windows!!! Shesh.

People should push "clunkers to e-plug-ins conversion" so the government would have job creation in the recycling and environment industry and create competition, training, and research development among auto parts industries as well. The impact for doing so for the entire auto industry will be at least ten folds.

It will be suspended for the asinine way that the engines are seized, not because we ran out of money.

This is a travesty. Can anyone explain to me the reason we have to destroy cars that get 17 miles per gallon just to trade it in for a matchbox car that will be worthless two years after it is driven off the lot?

My old car is 18 years old .. Ive had cars 6 months old break more than this 18 year old car.
