Americans have some extreme views of President Barack Obama, with the survey suggesting that 40% of adults believe he is a socialist, and about a quarter of survey participants thinking the president is a racist, anti-American and even doing things Hitler did.

It proves my point that Republicans, conservatives and libertarians are invested in fear mongering and race baiting. This disturbing trend is being counted by the Harris Poll and the Research 200/Daily Kos Poll.

38% say he wants to take away Americans' right to own guns.

32% say he is a Muslim.

29% think he wants to turn over the sovereignty of the United States to a one world government.

29% think he has done many things that are unconstitutional.

27% say he resents America's heritage.

27% say he does what Wall Street and the bankers tell him to do.

25% say he was not born in the United States and so is not eligible to be president.

25% say he is a domestic enemy that the U.S. Constitutions speaks of.

23% say he is a racist.

23% say he is anti-American.

23% say he wants to use an economic collapse or terrorist attack as an excuse to take dictatorial powers.

20% say he is doing many of the things that Hitler did.

14% of Americans say president Obama may be the anti-Christ.

When split by political party, 24% of Republicans and 6% of Democrats viewed the nation's leader in this way.

40% of Republicans, compared with just 15% of Democrats, think Wall Street pulls his strings.

The results come from an online Harris Poll involving 2,320 adults who were surveyed online between March 1 and March 8 by Harris Interactive, a market research firm.

I love the writting "Conservatives are racist, Islamophobic, sexist, homophobic and anti-American...but don't take this personal". LOL. what's sad is that democrats say these things about conservatives largely without proof. conservatives say these things about democrats and can actually back it up with cold hard fact. And if you are worried about sexism in conservative circles (it can be a problem) perhaps you should look at how women are treated within african american communities.

LOL at the hypocrisy in this comment. Just because this dude isn't on the far right or libertarian hes a "commie liberal". This comment also shows your ignorance. it a fact, not an opinion, that the majority of conservatives oppose gay marriage (although I find that racism is almost dead in America). This is because conservatives believe in economic freedom and social regulation. Social regulation means imposing their moral beliefs on others.

I have also seen some liberals label racist, anti-religious, islamophobic, sexist, anti-american views as well. You guys are just as guilty with it. Infact, some conservatives I know have been trying to show that Islamic can be a good faith as well. So I don't know where you got your islamophobic crap from. When Bush made successes you criticized him and you cheered at his failures. You didn't listen to conservatives, moderates or independents. That's my opinion.

@YoungIvyScholar Ron Paul is too old to run for president....Give the man a break....Presidents have to deal with a lot of stress from the voters and the public in general and this would most likely give him a heart attack within his first few weeks in office!!
